Grandpa’s WWII Fuji Curry

Brown and set aside:

1 lb steak cut in 1 in cubes

Brown:

1/2 medium onion, chopped

3 small cloves garlic

1 T butter

Add 1 T curry powder to the onion mixture.  Cook 1 minute and add another 1/2 chopped onion to all meat.  Stir well and cover.  Cook until juice of meat dries.  Ad 1 cup water or tomatoes and cook until gravy thickens.  Serve with rice.

Phyllis’ Oven Beef Stew

Brown 1 1/2 lb stew beef in 3 T oil

Add:

3 medium carrots, sliced

16 oz package frozen peas

1 T GF flour in:

1/8 tsp thyme

salt and pepper

1 1/2 c water

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 3/4 hours.

“Funeral Hotdish”

Brown and drain:

1 1/2 lb hamburger

1 medium onion, chopped

In greased baking dish, combine meat mixture with:

3 c GF organic tomato soup

1 can creamed corn

4-6 c undercooked GF macaroni

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour

Pizza Hotdish

Brown:

1 lb hamburger

1 medium onion chopped

Combine meat with:

1 tsp oregano

1 can mushrooms

1 package pepperoni

1 can tomato sauce

3 cups undercooked GF pasta

Salt and pepper to taste

1/3 c water

But in 2 1/2 quart casserole dish.  Top with pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Dakota Dish

Saute:

2 lbs ground beef

Chopped onion- to taste

In a large casserole dish, mix:

cooked hamburger

5 medium potatoes, cubed

1 large can pork and beans

1 large can tomatoes

Bake at 350 degrees for at least 1 hour.

Hamburger Bean Casserole

1/2 c ketchup

1/4 c brown sugar

1 T dry mustard

1 can butter beans

1 can kidney beans

1 can pork and beans

1 lb hamburger- fried and drained with 1/2 lb bacon

Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Teriyaki Pork Loin

1 clove garlic- minced

2 T GF soy sauce

1 T water

1 tsp brown sugar

2 tsp lemon juice

2 tsp vegetable oil

1/4 tsp pepper

2 lb pork loin

Mix all ingredients- let pork loin marinade for at least 4 hours- put in slow cooker next day.  Cook for 3-4 hours on high or 6-7 on low.  Can cook in the oven as well.  Cook at 425 degrees for about 45 minutes.

Taco Fryer Chicken

1 envelope GF taco seasoning

1/4 tsp salt

1 egg

1/2  c GF flour

1 T milk

1 fryer chicken- cut up

Combine flour, salt, and taco seasoning in a Ziploc bag.  In a bowl, beat the egg and milk.  Dip the chicken in the egg mixture followed by the seasoning.  Place in a greased baking dish.  Bake uncovered for 1 hour at 350 degrees.

Orange Pork Chops

1 can orange juice concentrate

1/2 c chicken broth

4 pork chops

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp pepper

1 clove of garlic, minced

1 1/2 GF Worchestershire sauce

Directions: Brown pork chops in a greased skillet.  Remove chops.  Cook garlic in pork drippings, stir in remaining ingredients.  Bring to a boil.  Pour 1/2 c sauce in baking dish over the chops.  Bake for 20 -25 minutes at 350.  Use the remaining sauce as gravy- serve over rice.

Porcupine Meatballs

1 1/2 lb hamburger

1/2 c rice

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1 T dehydrated onion

Mix these ingredients to make the meatballs.

Sauce:

1/2 c water

3 c Organic Tomato Soup

Pour over meatballs.

Cook in the oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 375 degrees.  Cook uncovered at the end to let the sauce thicken.
